Dear brothers and sisters!

Today, we mark another anniversary of the enthronement of the Primate of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, His Beatitude Metropolitan Onufriy of Kyiv and All Ukraine.

By the grace of God, for eleven years now, he has stood in front of the people of God as a good shepherd, who leads his flock to Christ in a difficult time of war, trials, and open persecution. His primateship has become a symbol of patience, humility, and prayer. His Beatitude bears his cross meekly and courageously, giving his soul for his brothers and sisters and preserving the Church on the path of salvation.

In these years, he has shown himself to be a true servant of Christ — a person who fully trusts God, does not give in to temptations or trials, keeps unity in the Church, and who incessantly offers up prayers for the end of the bloodshed and the giving of peace to Ukraine. His words and example strengthen the hope in us that the Commandments of the Gospel — and first of all the love of Christ and forgiveness — are stronger than enmity and hatred, and that they are what is the only right path to long-awaited peace and revival.

No matter how enemies of Orthodoxy from within and from outside try to tarnish his name, for millions of the Orthodox in Ukraine His Beatitude remains a good teacher, a man of prayer, whose spiritual prestige is unquestionable in all the Local Churches.

I thank God for blessing us with such a Primate. May the Lord give His Beatitude, our dear Vladyka Onufriy, health, spiritual and physical strength, and His gracious help for many and blessed years!

Please accept my wholehearted greetings, our dear Vladyka and father!
