Dear brothers and sisters!
Today, the Holy Orthodox Church celebrates the Nativity of Our Most Holy Lady Theotokos and Ever-Virgin Mary — one of the brightest and favourite days of the church year.
This event seems to be ordinary and humble at first sight: a girl was born in the house of the elderly, righeous Joachim and Anna. But it was through this extraordinary birth that God prepared the fulfilment of His great plan of the salvation of the world. After long years of waiting and prayer, the Lord gave them and the entire mankind His miracle — the Child destined to become the Mother of the Saviour.
This feast reminds us: miracles happen when we can patiently wait and trust God in everything. The patience and faith of the righteous parents of the Most Holy Virgin showed that the Lord never forgets those who trust in Him. He often responds not at once and not how we expect to, yet always at the best time and in the best way. It is an important lesson for each of us. We often try to arrange everything on our own: according to our passionate and short-sighted understanding. But human knowledge, forces, and wisdom have a limit. At the same time, trust in God opens the doors for a true miracle. It requires from us not passive waiting but a living and active faith, constant prayer, and efforts to live according to His commandments.
The Nativity of the Theotokos is a feast of love and hope. In a world full of catastrophes and upheavals, it reminds: even in the most difficult situation, there is reason to believe, wait, and pray. The Lord knows our time and our circumstances and will definitely give a response. He is waiting for our hearts to be truly ready to accept it.
Dear friends! Let today's feast fortify us in faith. Let each of us have enough patience and trust in God to wait for His help and miracle. And may the Most Holy Theotokos, born for the sake of the salvation of the whole world and all people, always be our Heavenly Mother and Intercessor, who spreads Her Protecting Veil over us.
Happy Feast of the Nativity of the Most Holy Theotokos!
I wish long-awaited peace and good to all of us!
