On August 9, 2022, 5 ambulances, which were purchased in the countries of the European Union by Vadym Novynskyi Charitable Foundation, arrived in Zaporizhia. The cars were handed over to the townspeople by Metropolitan Luka of Zaporizhia and Melitopol, who consecrated them near the Holy Intercession Cathedral.
In April, 9 cars were donated as humanitarian aid to the Territorial Medical Association "Regional Center for Emergency Medical Aid and Disaster Medicine" of Zaporizhia Regional Council. In total, Zaporizhia received 14 ambulances from Vadym Novynskyi Foundation.
On August 9, the handover of cars took place on the Memorial Day of the Great Martyr and Healer Panteleimon. Metropolitan Luka of Zaporizhia and Melitopol emphasized the importance of the charity project in this difficult time for the country:
"I have a doctor`s diploma," Bishop Luka reminded. - Let's imagine I have certain knowledge, but I don't have any tools at hand. Can I cure the sick? And if it is far from me and I don't have transport?
That is why the ambulances that Zaporizhia health care facilities received today are very important. When all factors are combined - a qualified doctor, modern equipment and good transport – that will sum up into a result! The most important thing is that our people get sick less.
We must remember that every disease is a manifestation of the illness of our soul. The soul will not be sick, the body will not be sick either. May the Lord strengthen each of us! And let the ambulance be nearby and come to help in time.
I would like to thank Father Vadym Novynskyi`s Charitable Foundation for the help. Let me remind you that this joint project with the Ukrainian Orthodox Church is implemented in many regional centers and cities of the country. Our Primate Onuphrius blessed it. We hope he will continue to bless us all.
From the first days, our Primate addressed the flock and urged us to protect the Motherland, to help whatever they can. Father Vadym Novynskyi began to invest his money in the purchase of ambulances, medical equipment and medicines.
His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphrius prays for each of us, and we pray for him as faithful children. We will glorify Christ with one heart and mouth. And the Lord will not leave us and will protect us from all kinds of troubles."
The goal of the Fund is to deliver at least 100 ambulances to Ukraine.
