After voting, Vadym Novynskyi, one of the leaders of the Opposition Bloc spoke to AgroPolit.com in an exclusive telephone interview. He explained that the faction had voted on a resolution expressing dissatisfaction with the cabinet of ministers, but had refrained from voting for its resignation.

Novynskyi said, “Thanks to our 26 votes (out of 243 votes) there was a no-confidence motion against the government. This would not have happened, if it had not be for the Opposition Block. Now the ruling coalition has to vote for the resignation of the government that had elected it. That is their political responsibility”.

He is convinced that Yatsenyuk’s resignation or his replacement by Mikhail Saakashvili (considered one of the most likely candidates for the post of Prime Minister) would change nothing.

Novynskyi summarised his views in his conversation with AgroPolitcom:

“After all, Yatsenyuk was appointed by the coalition leaders, who removed him from the parliamentary rostrum. However, they forget that they also have responsibility for his failure. Therefore, we believe that the coalition should be dissolved and there should be a complete change of authority – elections for the Parliament and the President. The coalition should have the courage to take this step”.
