Today, together with Rinat Akhmetov, we made a working visit to Mariupol city. It was important for us to meet with staff of companies that are part of Metinvest Holding (especially in view of the fact that these days the flagship of the Ukrainian metallurgic industry, Ilyich Iron and Steel Works, is celebrating its 125th anniversary), to talk in person with those people who are behind the development of the metallurgic industry, to support the city authorities who care about the development of social programs, parks, hospitals, schools, and kindergartens. On a related note, the authorities of Mariupol have really done a lot to make the city the most comfortable in Ukraine.

We also visited the construction site of a new cold rolling shop, which is to be put into operation in three years and in which Metinvest plans to invest more than USD 1 billion.

The very fact of large long-term investments in the industry, in environmental programs, in urban infrastructure is the best proof that we commit our future to Ukraine and believe in the soonest peaceful resolution of the conflict in Donbass, in the unity and economic development of the country.
