A meeting between Vadym Novynskyi and Andrej Plenković, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Croatia, organized with the assistance of the Honorary Consul of Ukraine in Croatia Ivica Pirić, took place.

The subject of the discussion was the domestic and external political situation in Ukraine. In particular, the parties discussed issues related to political settlement of the armed conflict in Donbass.

Mr Plenković supported the idea that the problems of Donbass could only be resolved through a peaceful solution, and noted that the Minsk Agreements must be fully executed by both parties. Only their complete implementation could bring peace to the East of Ukraine and lead to international détente.

Another big topic on the agenda were the ideas to develop mutually beneficial economic relations between the two countries. One of the most promising areas of trade and economic cooperation could be the shipbuilding sector. Shipbuilding is a high-tech industry creating high added value and establishing a range of related businesses around it. Its development creates jobs, improves export earnings and tax revenues to the budget. There is no doubt that such cooperation would be mutually beneficial and much promising.
